The short answer
In Central Florida, a typical impact window — installed, with permit — commonly falls in the high hundreds to low thousands of dollars per window. A full house of, say, 10–15 windows plus a sliding door often lands in the tens of thousands total. These are typical ranges, not quotes: your home's actual price depends on sizes, styles, frame material, and condition of the openings.
What drives the price up
Size and style. A small bathroom window costs far less than a wall of custom picture windows. Sliding glass doors and French doors are among the priciest openings. Frame material. Vinyl is usually the most affordable; aluminum and fiberglass cost more. Glass upgrades. Extra energy coatings and thicker laminated glass add cost. Opening condition. Rot, settled frames, or non-standard openings need extra work.
What drives the price down
Doing the whole house at once is cheaper per window than doing three now and three later — one permit, one mobilization, one crew. Simple styles (single-hung, fixed picture) cost less than complex ones (casements, custom shapes). And retrofit installs into sound existing frames can cost less than full tear-outs.
How to compare quotes
Compare line by line: the exact product (brand, model, Florida Product Approval), the glass package, frame material, whether the permit and inspection are included, and the warranty terms. A quote that's much cheaper than the others usually has a cheaper product or skips something. Ask what's missing.
Financing
Many homeowners finance impact windows — it's a big purchase. Ask us about financing options when you request your quote; the monthly cost is often smaller than people expect.
